Man IN THE ARENA
Jordan Wood is an International Freestyle wrestler who currently trains out of the Lehigh Valley RTC. This is a short film focuses on what his daily training looks like and a quote that he likes to live by while competing. This quote is by President Theodore Roosevelt, in his speech entitled "Citizenship in a Republic." Wood is a NCAA D1 all-American for Lehigh University and is currently seeking to earn a spot on the US World Team. Shot in 4K on the Canon R5C.
In the Circle
Mitch Finesilver is an International Freestyle wrestler who currently trains out of the New York City RTC. This is a short film documenting his why for competing and training. He represents team Israel and will compete at the 2023 UWW World Championships. Shot in 4K on the Canon R5C.
STATE CHAMPS
Bethlehem Catholic Wrestling runs away with another team state title. This win earned them their 9th trophy in the last 13 years. This project allowed me the opportunity to focus on much of the sound design in the introduction. This film features footage that was captured over the three day event.
BELIEVE
The Bethlehem Catholic Golden Hawks defeated the Malvern Prep Friars in an unbelievable upset, 21-18. The match was a total nail biter, with no bonus points scored which hasn’t occurred since 1970 when major decisions were first introduced! This film is a short glimpse into the action that was seen that night. I relied more on sound effects in order to bring to focus the word “believe” which I thought represented the attitudes of the BECA wrestlers throughout the match.
FITNESS
Come watch a day in the life of Darian Cruz’s wrestling career as he trains with the Lehigh Valley RTC and competes for the Puerto Rican National Team. Here’s just a small highlight into how Darian prepares for competition as well as his go-to partnerless exercises.
PUERTO RICO ft. DARIAN CRUZ
I recently traveled to Puerto Rico with Darian Cruz while he competed in the qualifier to earn a spot to represent the national team. I wanted to integrate his journey as a wrestler by showcasing his preparations leading up to competing on event day. I also had the opportunity to experiment with seamlessly combining three different scenes.
THE HOLY WAR
A must see wrestling match between two of the top catholic high schools in the Lehigh Valley, who coincidentally represent the number one ranked teams in both the AA and AAA. Bethlehem Catholic came out with a close win over Notre Dame Green Pond, 29-23. Way to go Hawks!
A HISTORIC RIVALRY
Every year the Freedom Patriots’ and Liberty Hurricanes’ football teams compete in a must see game. With a police escort, energetic crowd, and a 2 hour long tailgate there were plenty of moments to capture the atmosphere of the day. Freedom took the game by a large margin but it was entertaining nonetheless.
